NSHL5 Start Party at the Punkhouse

Sunday, July 12th, 1998: The Big World Cup Party at the House Of Bamboo

Today was the championship game of World Cup '98, pitting the hosts France against the defending champions from Brazil. In conjunction with this event, however, was Day One of NSHL5.

Little did Commissioner Gordon know, but there was much more going on today than these two huge sporting events. Mr. Foomanchu himself, Glenn Passey, made a surprise presentation of an actual NEELY CUP!!!!!! And it is a beautiful trophy, indeed. Here are some of the photos from a drunken' afternoon.....

Here is Foo handing over the NEELY CUP to Ace Payne, who is sporting a lovely MUFFS T-Shirt!

Yummy! Anybody want some? It kinda tasted like grapes! Jim THISTLE looks on with envy.

Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy! That funny looking chap in the background (between Foo and Ace) is none other than a jealous COWS GM, Egg Elson.

Here's a motley crew. "Hey Lavitt, get your hand off of my cup!"

Um, from left to right in the back: Chris Carman; Larry Lavitt (sporting a beautifu SunDogs tee); Dave (S.H.I.T.) McCann; Ace Payne,  Mike The Thief; Gilly (Useless Twit) Dean; Egg (Cow) Elson;  Chrispy Crunch, Fusster Foo. From left to right in the front: Jim Thistle. By the way, thanks Chrispy, for the scanning service.

The photo is a bit dark, so it's hard to see a couple of the guys in the back, namely McCann and Gilly. This is probably a good thing :-) (kidding fellas)

Larry is thinking "Hahahaha. He's spilling that crap all over his MUFFS tee-shirt. He'll have to go and change. Then I'll be the only one wearing an NSHL tee-shirt."

Mike is thinking "I wonder what's going on?"

OH, and France beat Brazil 3-0.
